Collaborations

The turning point of this evolution was the moment when the Teatro di Pisa started to collaborate with the National Drama Academy «Silvio d'Amico» (that is the only State School, together with the Experimental Movie Centre).

Thanks to the collaboration with the Municipality of San Miniato, the "Istituto del Dramma Popolare" (San Miniato) and of the "Cassa di Risparmio of San Miniato" Foundation, the School has been taking place in San Miniato (Pisa) since 1994.

Today, the other schools collaborating with Prima del Teatro are (or were) : the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London (since 1992); the Russian Academy of Drama RATI (former GITIS), Moscow (since 1992); the Institut del Teatre, Barcelona (since 1993); the Accademia dei Filodrammatici, Milan (since 1994); the Universität der Künste, Berlin (since 1995); the ENSATT-Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts et Techniques du Theatre, Lyon (since 1997); and the Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramatico (Madrid), the Statens Teater Skole (Copenhagen) the School "La Cometa" (Rome), the 'American Conservatory Theater of San Francisco (since 2004); the Ecole du Theatre National of Strasbourg and the "Accademia Teatrale Veneta", Venice (since 2011); the Institut Nationale Superieur des Arts du Spectacle INSAS, Bruxelles and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater HfMT, Hamburg  (2014).

The Schools participate to the drawing up of the programs and the didactic decisions; they direct or co- direct the laboratories with their own teachers; they recognize the course as curricular in their programs of study and place their students in the different workshops. Just this simultaneous participation of students and teachers coming from so important European Schools of Theatre represents the true originality of the experience.

For all these schools Prima del Teatro meets their requeste of a regular pedagogical partnership between the European Schools of Theatre and so they propose to share the partnership also for the future.
