ENSATT - Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Techniques du Theatre - Lyon
The ENSATT - Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts et Techniques du Theatre, founded in 1943 as Ecole de la Rue Blanche, is a national school fundend by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Technology. At the moment there are 150 students that receive, from a staff of 60 teachers, an artistic, cultural and technical training in the different professions of theatre. There are six departments: actors, costume makers, set designers, light designers, sound engineers, stage management. Beyond the acquisition of specific skills in these professions, the ENSATT promotes a broader cultural debate and a common language, thanks to multiple international relationships that it has established. The courses last three years. For the future, they are working on a course for writers and directors.
